Almost 7 weeks home!

Sorry I haven't been on much to post! We have been very busy here at home and I don't have any free time as yet to blog and visit blogs like I used to. I hope things will settle at some point so that I can do this more often and I miss visiting all of my friends blogs!!

Katie Grace XiHua is doing wonderfully!! She is so sweet and is adjusting SO well. She has a good disposition and is easy to care for on a daily basis. She is sweet and helpful and loving. She is still stuck to me like glue and has panic and that is still tiring, but we work it out. She loves her siblings and they love her. She loves her daddy too and actually lets him hold her now, but only when I am gone, LOL!

I finally have slept a "full" (my usual 6 hours) night and in my own bed for 3 random nights this week!! That is something to cheer about! Sleeping on her floor on a sleeping bag and waking up to crying many times a night is very draining, and uncomfortable so I am looking forward to more sleep!

"Hua Hua", as we still call her at home has learned many English words and understands almost everything I say to her. She is bright and quick to learn. She fits in so well in our family and we just love having her brighten our day!

She LOVES to dance! Here is the sweetest video I caught of her dancing the other day. :)

  3. Annie, I just posted but don't think it took, so if it did, you will be hearing from me twice. I commented how your joy is healing Hua Hua's traumatized brain, and it's obvious she is soaking it all in! Way to go, mama! Good job, well done!

  4. I can imagine the floor isn't great. I"m still on the floor in Benjamin's room, mostly so my husband can get sleep, but I have a memory foam pad doubled over and it way nicer then our bed so I'm sleeping better.
Glad to get an update glad all is well. Maybe the country sond stuck like glue could be your song.

  5. So glad she is doing well! I can totally relate to the lack of sleep thing...not fun! Can't wait to meet her, hopefully, in January!

  6. So cute, I love to see her dance!! Glad that she is doing so well. Hopefully your sleep pattern in your own bed is staying like that... on the floor doesn't sound that comfy to me :-(

  7. She is such a cutie. Those first months at home are just like a crazy hurricane of change/joy/love...and let's be honest...hard stinking work!!

I'm so glad she is finally where God intended her to be :)

  9. Oh Katie is such a doll! Too cute for words! Your description of sleep sounds almost exactly like our first few months home with Maylie. She would panic to wake up and not see me. Even the to the point that she would throw up. It was such a huge adjustment for her and me. I lost a lot of sleep those first few months. But God got us through. We eventually had to be more firm while still reassuring her and she finally would sleep through the night...with the door wide open and lots of nightlights. Bless their hearts, so much for them to adjust too.
