PROJECT ANNA-NADIA'S STORY

I highly recommend this video, it is such an amazing story!  It is about a man here in Florida who had a dream about a little girl and actually found that very girl in an orphanage in Russia.  Click on this title above (Project Anna) to watch it.

VISION 2

So, I wanted to finish going back and telling about the 2nd vision that I had so there is a complete view of why we are here, now,  planning to adopt.  Please understand, that having these 2 visions has been quite an experience for me.  It's not like I have visions every night!  In fact, I have had some similar experiences throughout my life, but not often, and none so real and visually clear as these.  About 2 months after the 1st vision (which you can read about on my first posting) I had a 2nd one. This was in January.  This vision happened very quickly.  I awoke in the middle of the night to see a little girl standing in my room.  This girl, however was younger than the girl in the first vision (maybe 2 or 3yrs old).  She again was Asian looking with almost shoulder length, black hair and bangs.  She was holding in her hands a stack of papers, which I knew to be adoption papers or for some reason I was thinking fundraising papers (having to do with the adoption either way).  I was sitting up looking at her, and I said, "Who is that?" She then quickly ducked behind the side table somewhat playfully.  I said, "It's okay, you can come out" (I'm not really sure why I said that!) But she was gone.  I stayed awake after that and thought about it so I would remember.  I had a sense she was where a lot of other children were.  So, because the 2 girls were different ages, I think that maybe they just represent a child in general that we are to adopt, or perhaps it was the same girl at a younger age in the 2nd vision.  Like we are going back in time to the adoption from where she would be.

APPROVAL!

We are so excited, we received our approval for the Thailand program last night!  I think my stomach did 50 somersaults when I read the email!  We were both so surprised, we thought we would wait at least a week for an answer, but it came the same day.  To add to that, after researching, this was the only Thailand program with an opening for us, and it was my last try at Thailand.  We both feel like this is a door opening for us, but only God knows exactly how it will all work out!  We are really on our way and we need to start saving money and writing grants because this is a financially big venture for us, but worth it for sure.  Who wouldn't stretch themselves and make a few sacrifices to save an innocent human being, especially when we have an idea of what their future might hold otherwise?  Especially in America where we have so much.  Our family is happy and full of love to give.  It's just getting the child here that will be our challenge!  But, we feel confident in God's provision and in His timing.

APPLICATION!

Jacob and I met with our Pastor and discussed the situation. Pastor Rick voiced his sense of confirmation that we should take steps toward adoption. After speaking with another leader at church, and a friend who is a Pastor at another church here in Orlando, we received confirmation and agreement all around. So, we agreed to take the first step of just seeing if we are approved for this particular Thailand program.
Today we sent in our application for the Thailand program that we have chosen. I can't believe we actually did it! I have been dreaming of this happening and now it is really in process. We are happy, excited and nervous. Of course, we still need to be approved by the Director of the program. So, we will know in 10 days. We will keep it in prayer and if it is meant to be, the door will open. If not Thailand, then we will keep looking and try the next door. We prayed that if God opens the door, we will take the next step.
- Great news- Jacob checked today and found that Delta flies into Bangkok. Since he has a whole lot of sky miles saved up, this will be a huge help on our adoption budget!

6 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME

If you would just take 6 minutes of your time and watch this beautiful video, it will change your heart!

RESEARCH

I began looking at photos of children around the world and it has been hard to narrow down what country this particular child might come from. China would be an obvious answer as there are so many orphaned girls, but when I looked at photos from Thailand, I couldn't believe the resemblance! Of course the Philippines and even South America had children who looked similar. Thailand though, continues to pull me. Well, I couldn't get this vision out of my mind and I began feeling a very strong sense that we would adopt internationally. I began researching international adoption programs and gathering as much information possible. (there is a back story to my previous interest in a domestic adoption which I will tell on a later post). Wow! I had no idea what I was in for... programs, qualification, wait times, and THE FEES! Meanwhile, I had told my husband about the vision, of which he was intrigued and of course he believed me, but when I said that I believe we need to adopt, he said something to the effect of, "Are you sure that's what the vision meant?! Maybe we're just supposed to go on a mission!" Now, I can completely understand his response, this was a little bit of a surprise plan for our life. And also, why now, God? In this economy? In Jacob's defense; we married 5 years ago, he is younger than I, and he became step dad to my 2 little ones from my previous marriage. We've already since added one more, so we have 3 kids in a fairly new marriage, so you can imagine our keeping up with everything! Jacob is an awesome step dad, he takes great care with us and he loves the Lord. We talk about everything and we have to be in agreement, so we put this idea to prayer and waited for God to let us know what to do. Three months later, and after another vision (which I will tell soon), the feeling that this is going to happen is even stronger, I can hardly contain it.

VISION

Habakkuk 2: 2-3 says, Then the Lord replied;  "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.   For the revelation awaits an appointed time;  it speaks of the end and will not prove false.  Though it linger, wait for it;  it will certainly come and will not delay."
My first posting and for the next week will be a little bit of a catch up of the past three months that have brought me to this time!
It started with a vision.  On Nov. 25th, 2008 after completing a 21 day "Daniel Fast", I woke up in the middle of the night to see a little girl in my room.  She was an Asian looking girl, with wide eyes, black hair with bangs and ponytails.  She was holding a curtain open with her head poking through and she was looking at me quite seriously and very intently.  I sat up in bed and stared at her waiting for my eyes to clear, but there she remained, staring at me.  Finally I said out loud, "What do you want?"  She continued to look at me seriously right in my eyes.  So, I then said,  "I will be there soon."  (I'm not really sure why I said this, it was not really of my own accord).  The little girl then smiled widely and went back inside the curtain and it closed.  As I watched, the curtain faded into the quilt my sister made that hangs there on my wall. I was awake, and I stayed awake for awhile thinking about this as you can imagine!  So, it wasn't like I had a dream and remembered it later, I was awake. Thus began this intense mission in my heart.
