HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!

Happy Birthday to my husband, Jacob.

Jacob is my best friend. We laugh A LOT. We love to talk and laugh and share everything we are thinking. When I ask him to, he keeps his heart and mind open to possibilities. He is so supportive of my dreams and, I guess you could say, my spiritual and mothering intuition. At the same time, he keeps me balanced as we think things through together, putting all details on the table. He is a great dad and loves family time. He is a talented artist, blessed with the gift of singing. Oh, and also, it doesn't hurt that he is really cute!

6 MONTHS WAITING......

We have now been 6 months on the waiting list. 1/2 of a year! Now, if it really is to take 3 years to be matched with a child (as many are experiencing), we are only be 1/6 of the way there. Yucky! But we are also keeping a very close eye on the waiting children as well, and who knows what God has in store!

We know there is a child who needs a home and loving family, and we will meet our little one soon. Well, of course, soon is relative. In the life of a mosquito, soon is about 2 hours. In the life of my lovely Grandma Alice, who lived to be 100, soon is just one season of life.

HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY CHRISTINA!!!

Happy Birthday to our daughter, Christina! She is 15 years old today! My husband and I often comment to each other on the fact that we are blessed to have her. Christina is a very easy teenager to parent.

She is pretty even tempered (maybe occasional drama!), and is loving to her younger brothers. When she babysits the boys, she "themes" the evening and they plan games, movies, and food accordingly. I work part time and the boys are never sad if I have to go to work and leave them home with Christina! THAT is a blessing! Joshua said the other day, "okay mom, are you going now? Cause we have fun plans". If you are a parent and you know your kids are happy and safe when you have to have a sitter, that is so awesome!

Christina is a beautiful dancer and a talented musician. She assists teaching students at her dance studio and the kids adore her. She gets good grades in school and keeps busy, so thus far, no mischief!
