Look at the fear in that face. Look into those eyes. Now, in your mind, dare to replace that face with your own precious child's face. Imagine the unbelievable fear when taken into terrible mistreatment. Okay, I probably lost some of my readers already. That's okay. I will still speak.

Amen Annie, Amen!!!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!! I am with you! HOW HOW HOW??? Please tell me. It is our hope and plan once we get our business moved and Lord willing making a profit again, to be able to help fund adoptions, and some how help with stopping slavery in any form! But I confess, I have no idea how to go about it! I live in a bubble of safety and comfort with no exposure to any of it. But it breaks my heart! We MUST do something. God Bless! Keep speaking!
ReplyDeleteIt is truly difficult to be willing to listen despite the trauma and hardship and depression that it can bring to our lives to think about what is going in our world. We have a dear friend who works for IJM, International Justice Mission in India. But IJM is all over the world and it's a great organization to get involved in, read about, pray for and or support! http://www.ijm.org/
ReplyDeleteBut I totally agree that we have a mandate from God to do something about it! We are His hands and feet in the world, so we must take action to stop this kind of abuse to children! We have a local organization in our city, http://www.embassyofhopecenter.org/ that works to get girls locally who have been in slavery and prostitution; out and help them transition to normal lives.
Getting involved in these kind of things is messy, depressing and down right hard. But we must act. Thank you for addressing this! Excited to hear what others share!
Thanks for your replies so far, girls!
ReplyDeleteJudy, I totally get it. I may accomplish a minute difference in my work as a volunteer GAL here in FL, but as far as the international community, it is hard to know how or where to help when I have very limited financial resources.
Esther, thank you for joining in! I appreciate your thoughts and really am glad that you gave us some links to programs that we can research! Yes, we ARE His hands and feet!
